Personal Note from Amanda
Last night I finished up a 30 Day Cleanse with a fabulous group of people. I love my life's purpose and passion and feel so blessed to be able to share my bliss with so many people. As we dive into summer, I'd like to work with more individual clients either in person or on the phone. If you are ready to look deeper into your relationship with food and your body, contact me for a Single Strategy Session. I would be honored to guide you through this powerful work.
On a personal note, Johnn is a shining star. We met with four different docs this week and they all commented that Johnn could be the poster boy for a MIRACLE. He couldn't have recovered so fast if it weren't for all of your love, prayers, intentions and good vibes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We are continuing to take things slow and steady which is great, but not as fun as ripping around on our bikes in the mountains! Good thing we are young and have the rest of our lives to cut loose!
I hope you enjoy this week's feature article "Throw Away Your Scale."

"Before working with Amanda, most of my thoughts were focused around food, eating, how much to eat, or that I ate too much and on and on and on. What I now realize, through working with Amanda and other self work I've done, is my body deserves high vibrational food and when I crave food that doesn't optimally serve my body, or when I over eat, it's not about the food, it's about a deeper issue that manifests itself in my relationship with food.
I remember the day when I claimed my power and let go of any "food addiction" and the "beat up stick" attached to it and LET IT GO! I let go of the drama of not being whole and IN my body. Just let it go, with joy and gratitude.
No more beating myself up, no more identifying myself with what I weigh or what size I am. I now ground myself in more healthy ways. I have embraced whole foods and have let go of sugar and caffeine and I love it! And when I want a piece of chocolate, I have it. End of story, no more drama, no more binges, no more ups and downs and best of all, there is ONLY LOVE for me, my body and my experiences. It is the best to KNOW I am whole.
Additionally, to see Amanda talk her talk and walk her walk is very inspiring. She was a source who inspired me to take affirmations more seriously and totally get into how powerful they are. She assisted me with giving myself permission to have some down time and to pamper myself.
The gifts I give myself start the ripple of the gifts I give to the world, because I know how to be whole and balanced now. Thank you Amanda for your patience, listening ear and inspiring support.
Love, Angela"

Throw Away Your Scale
By Amanda Moxley
Have you ever gotten on the scale and were devastated by the number staring back at you? You thought you were lighter, or thinner or eating so well and then the scale gave you a different reality? You felt like you should have lost five pounds but NO the scale is screaming at you that you actually gained weight or didn't lose any weight at all.
How do you feel in your heart when the scale does this to you?
What kinds of thoughts do you assault yourself with? Do these sound familiar; "just give up, eating healthy doesn't work, you're fat, you're a loser, you're never going to lose weight, you're going to feel fat forever."
How do you eat the rest of the day? Do you continue to eat healthy or do you sabotage your efforts, get in a funk and eat crappy food all day?
If you fall into this trap, rest assured that you are not alone. The majority of women I speak to about the scale report the same negative love/hate relationship that brings them down and makes them feel horrible.
Years ago, I'd obsess about the scale. The number looking back at me would either make me feel happy or ruin my entire day. It wasn't until I hired my first Holistic Health Counselor (a former dancer who had to weigh in before dance practice) and she suggested that I throw away my scale. At first I didn't believe her, but one week in between our sessions I tried not weighing myself. Instead I declared my weight at 118 and have never weighed myself again. Now I feel absolutely FREE! I feel confident and know no matter what, I weigh 118 now. This mindset gives me a sense of innate confidence, self trust and calmness about my body that nobody and especially no scale can take away from me.
If you want to end the moody scale rollercoaster like I did here is what you can do.
1. Decide that you are FINISHED with allowing the number on your scale to determine your mood and steal your peace.
2. Declare your ideal weight.
3. Tell everyone who asks your new declared weight, when you get your driver's license use your declared weight. From this point forward act, live, eat and breathe like you are your ideal weight and never look back.
4. Never weigh yourself again because you know you don't want to get back on the moody scale rollercoaster.
5. Continue to eat and drink the highest most nutritious foods and drinks you can afford. Continue to exercise and be grateful for the beautiful, healthy amazing body you have been given.
